Main Contents of the Interview
Jaroslav Macik is member of fourth generation of wine producers in Sobrance and later Tokaj wine region. Winery is developing and growing during last 26 years and its range of bussines in become wider. They own wineyards, produce wine and do business in tourism sector.
A story of Tokaj Macik Winery founded in 1995 based on the family tradition narrated by the owner, main vintner and manager of the winery. This winery is one of the most prestigious wineries in Slovakia, winning many notable awards such as achieving Winery of the Year for the three times. He further talks about his personal development in the field and a brief history of the winery. He also explains why the the wine, which they produced so so unique and of a high quality, while some of the aspects he mentions are the selection of the wine from only three types of grapes and ideal weather and natural conditions in Malá Tŕňa. Currently, the winery also focuses on wine-tourism. The winery would benefit from many professions including waiter, cook, vintner, or people from the field of tourism, while the education requirement varies for a particular position and he offers a possibility of training. The main values the company holds are loyalty and a sense of family, which further produce and enhance the tradition.
