The IWB-Labs project was presented in a number of events in order to report about the activities carried out and the results achieved.

How to adequate the training to the SMEs needs – the case of IWBLabs project

Location: Zaragoza, Spain

21 participants, both VET providers and representatives of SMEs, attend the focus group organised by CEOE Aragon the 11th April 2018 at CEOE Aragon premises.
Mr. Jorge Alonso made an introduction of the project and its objectives, and then he started to explain the 3 IOs in more detailed, while answering some questions from participants.
After his speech, a joint discussion started about the current situation in Spain, and how to implement these types of experiences in the Spanish context.
Overall, participants showed a high interest and expressed their intention to include more flexibility in their normal activity, to consider a work-based learning approach.

Investire sul capitale umano



Date: 5 July 2018
Location: Sant’Atto, Teramo, Italy

The event were attended by both company managers and VET trainer, overall there were 22 people. There were two VET Trainer, from the University of Teramo, but some of the company managers came from Manpower, a multinational staffing firm which beside recruitment does also training activity. Therefore the assembly was constituted for the most part by company managers, who belong to very different companies by type of activity and size.

Internationalization and Work Based Learning

Location: Jelgava, Latvia

The event entitled “Internationalization and Work Based Learning” took place in Jelgava (LV) on 27 April 2018. The participants were from diverse educational institutions of Latvia: College of Tourism and Technologies at Kuldiga, Secondary School No.2 at Tukums, Spīdolas valsts ģimnāzija in Jelgava, the Faculty of Agriculture of LLU, the Faculty of Food Technology of LLU, and the Faculty of Society Development and Economics. The participants from LLU - the above academic staff members, were invited to the seminar as experts: they prepared and gave presentations; they contributed to the discussions by sharing their expertise in traineeship coordination and by presenting their opinions how the virtual traineeship should be organized.

Internationalization and Work Based Learning 2

Location: Jelgava, Latvia

The event entitled “Internationalization and Work Based Learning 2” took place in Jelgava (LV) on 13 October 2018. The participants were from different organisations; among them it is worthy to mention the governmental authorities such as the Ministry of Agriculture, the Food and Veterinary Service, and Central Finance and Contracting Agency of the Republic of Latvia. All participants agreed that Work-based learning (WBL) is a widely used term in education today and the use of this pedagogical approach is essential for enhancing students’ self-regulatory learning, and development of their employability skills. It can offer added value learning opportunities which can be particularly appropriated for international employment and careers.

How to improve cooperation of business and VET institutions



Date: 16 October 2018
Location: Košice, Slovakia

The event was attended by 25 participants– 13 representatives of VET institutions, 5 representatives of companies, 3 representatives of associations of companies, 2 representatives of state institutions and 2 representatives of self-governing region. Main topic of the seminar was improvement of the communication and cooperation of schools and business. Project was presented in detail – all 3 intellectual outputs, especially participation of schools and companies in the platform for international placements. Representatives of national organisation for vocational education and training and Slovak business agency have presented their activities in dual education and support of start-ups. Union of employers has presented their activities in the area of cooperation of schools and companies. Conclusions: Strong willingness for creation of new contacts of companies and schools, agreed new meetings with aim of new contract between schools and companies conclusions.

Progetto IWBLabs: Internationalisation of Work Based Learning in the Agribusiness Sector

Location: Teramo, Italy

The final conference of the IWBlabs project took place at the Sporting Hotel in Teramo on October 19, 2018.
There were 89 participants, 7 project partners, 2 partner schools of Its, some high school teachers, some ITS teachers, ITS students in progress and Its graduates, as well as authorities such as the Municipality of Teramo, the Province of Teramo and representatives of the Tercas Foundation of Teramo.
