3.1 Introduction
3.1.3 The Added Value for the Company

In the United States, trainees do their internship at companies such as Amazon, Walmart, Dole, Blue Diamond Growers or Google and sometimes receive compensation comparable to a top manager of some Italian companies. Why does this happen? Why is the trainee not just a cheap worker? Finally, because in many of our companies the first thought of the entrepreneur is to have a low-cost worker available for a brief period?

This happens because the sharing of missions and objectives among schools, companies and workers allows the best graduates on the market to converge in those areas, which can, with their innovative ideas, offer innovative solutions to old problems. The extraordinary salaries of the interns in Silicon Valley, have nothing to do with the salaries on average offered to intern in our countries and this is one of the major problems for countries such as Italy that has seen in recent years "the brain drain" formed in Italy but then the system of local businesses has failed to accommodate and enhance. This represents an important wake-up call for an entrepreneurial system that is not able to innovate and give work to the best potentialities expressed by our school system. This is because very often, in Europe, trainees are opportunities to employ cheap labor. This ancient mentality reduces the development spaces both for the company that fails to fully use the talent of the boys, both for the trainees who do not see adequately valued their abilities. In this context, the virtual internship, if planned and agreed with the companies, can bring greater benefits to companies than traditional training. First, in the commercial field, the virtual internship allows companies to approach new markets to know important habits and values to establish themselves in markets not yet explored. Furthermore, internal management processes can be reviewed to tackle challenges not previously considered.

Take the case of a virtual internship with a Japanese student, for example. The trainee can show the company problems related to processing phases not considered before or to unusual ways of distributing the product. The development of the virtual training allows therefore to put into practice a profitable exchange both for the trainee and for the company.
