VET Institutions

This guideline provides the VET directors, administrative staff and trainers with specific suggestion on how to organise internships. The guideline covers topic such as: assessment, validation and certification of competences, skills and knowledge; planning, managing and monitoring of an internship; creation of fruitful cooperation with companies.

The tasks and activities that the candidate can perform within the company must be punctually mapped. In the presence of a Virtual and International internship, the company that can apply for such an experience must be able to establish, map activities that do not require a physical presence at the company, as well as provide a minimum number of meetings with the holder for the purposes of connection only and as a validation point for the activities carried out.

The company must have personnel capable of interfacing with the trainee in the language of the recipient or in English and must have a degree of demeanor with the technology that will allow the success of the internship.

The companies that can be contacted for a virtual and international internship are surely those that result from the result of a web search and registered on special platforms that guarantee thedegree of awareness and organization of the company, following examples directives through:

  • Web Portals

  • Websites of professional organizations

  • Many professional associations offer internship postings on their websites or on-line publications.

  • Chambers of Commerce

  • News media

  • Utilize print and broadcast media to keep up with the current activities of the prospective internship sponsors. Newspapers, magazines, television and radio networks can spark ideas and provide information on cutting edge trends and new organizations.

Matching between the company and the trainee, or their choice will therefore result as an outcome of an evaluation

as a meeting point between the characteristics of the candidates and that of the company.

Only at the end of this process will it be possible to sign a training agreement in which all the obligations of the parties and the expected results will be reported.
