Several very important basic principles and strategies should be followed during a job interview (See the online article Job Search 101: Interview Basics)
Confidence without arrogance. Show you work well with others as equals while exhibiting the confidence and assertiveness of a self-starter.
Reason. The prospective employer looks for how well you process information.
Communication. The interviewer looks for social savvy, small talk, and interpersonal ability with co-workers.
Success. Show how you have used your skills by providing measurable statistics and explain the thought process behind your actions.
Organization. Show your level of organization by your dress, manner, and coordination handling the papers and equipment you bring to the interview.

Plan ahead, organize your thoughts and materials, and follow these steps to ensure you’re well prepared to present yourself in the best possible light:
Know yourself and how your skills match up with the position. Be prepared to go into more detail on anything the interviewer brings up from your CV. Refresh your memory about all your past work experiences. Think of stories that illustrate your ability to solve problems like the ones this employer might have.
Make sure you’re very clear on what you can bring to the company. Don’t focus on what you’ve done in the past; frame your responses in terms of what you can do for the new employer.
Research the company beforehand. Check out the employer’s web site and become more familiar with its business model, the market(s) in which it competes, and (if the company is public) its recent financial performance.
Dress neatly and conservatively. Plan and prepare a neat, business-like outfit.
Gather your supplies. Never go to a job interview without a pen, paper, and two or three extra copies of your CV
Arrive on time. Arrive for the interview at least about 15 minutes ahead of schedule.
The better prepared you are, the more confidently and impressively you’ll present yourself. And that’s what leads to job offers!
